ATA has undertaken a small FAMEX funded project to develop a collection of market-driven products inspired by Tunisian heritage for clients of Environmental Development Action Inter-Arab (ENDA), an international non governmental organization that supports micro entrepreneurs by providing them financial (microcredit) and non financial services (training, coaching, organization of commercial fairs, etc.).

ATA’s functions in Tunisia is to improve the product development skills of Tunisian artisans selected by ENDA, as well as develop marketable product lines that will be introduced to the market in France. The product lines developed focus on traditional weaving.

Accomplishments
  • 20 artisans from Tozeur and le Kef have directly benefitted this project among which about 96% are women.
  • 80 new products have been designed through ATA’s product development with an international designer.
  • These artisans were trained in quality control, costing and pricing, color & design, production efficiency, and raw material sourcing.
